Lithium Ion batteries under fire E-mail

It is very tempting to blame computer vendors like Dell an Aple for notebooks which explode into fireballs. However, in the final analysis it all comes down to the batteries.

To be fair to Dell, Apple, Lenovo, Toshiba and other notebook manufacturers who have all suffered adverse consequences, as a result of defective battery technology, the fault is in the batteries, not the computers.

However, the computer makers must share at least part of the blame. In their zeal to squeeze every last minute of portable power out of their creations, they have been less than conscientious about the power source of their products.

There is no doubt that the Lithium Ion battery is the stored power source of the future. It threatens to make the Hydrogen fuel cell irrelevant.
