NCR data warehousing division Teradata has shipped an enhanced version of the Teradata database running on the 64-bit version of SUSE Linux Enterprise from Novell. It is available globally for enterprise-class data warehouses.
According to Teradata, the company now
delivers the same enterprise-class scalability, availability and
manageability with the 64-bit SUSE Linux Enterprise operating system,
as with the Windows operating system and its own UNIX operating system,
UNIX MP-RAS.
Teradata's massively parallel database processing system is widely used
for data warehousing applications involving large volumes of data at
customers such as Wal-Mart. {moscomment}
