BigAir Group Ltd (ASX: BGL) has announced its first annual result as a publicly listed company, reporting revenue of $6.9 million for the year to 30 June, $0.4 million above the $6.5 million guidance provided to in May of this year. Gross profit was $2m.
The EBITDA loss as a percentage of revenue was reduced from 39 percent in 2004-05 to 15 percent in 2005-06 despite a large increase in operating costs relating to the company's transition to a listed company and the integration of a number of acquisitions made during the year. The mobile wireless division generated $5.8m in revenue and the fixed wireless division recorded $1.1m.

The IPO raised net capital of $6.3 million and the company had a cash balance in excess of $5 million as at 30 June after investing more than $1.5 million during the year on capital equipment and acquisitions.

In the current year the company says it intends to boost its penetration of the Sydney commercial market for high speed broadband, further develop the residential broadband opportunity provided by its WHome business unit, review the roll-out opportunities for its wireless network infrastructure and business model in other capital cities and to consider further targeted acquisitions. It also expects to introduce WiMAX technologies into its fixed wireless network. {moscomment}
