The word is out officially that Japan will have the new generation Nintendo Wii games console in stores on December 2 for the equivalent of about US$212 at today's exchange rates. For their money, Wii users will be able to download cheap games from previous generation Nintendo consoles, with N64 downloads costing just US$8.50 and earlier generation games even cheaper. Nintendo has promised that there will be at least 25 new generation games available by the end of 2006, costing between US$40-58 based on published Japanese pricing. The Wii wowed audiences with its innovative motion sensitive wand-like one hand remote controller, when it was put on display at games shows earlier this year.
