Melbourne based IP Systems has chosen Huawei Technologies as its preferred supplier of DSLAMS for a planned ADSL2+ service focussed on regional Australia.

"We will provide ADSL2+ broadband services to our customers using Huawei's UA5000 DSLAMs towards the end of the calendar year" said Peter Riella, CEO of IP Systems.

"We have an ambitious time schedule to launch our new services. Huawei has developed a DSL platform that supports converged services. This means we can provide business grade voice and data services to companies and new IP TV services to our residential customers," he added. "Huawei has proved in the past that they are able to ensure successful rollouts within very short timeframes. This was a deciding factor for IP System in choosing Huawei as our partner for our DSLAM deployment."

IP Systems is an established provider of hosted business applications and network services. It was one of the first companies in Australia to offer IP centrex services using the BroadSoft BroadWorks platform and the first service provider to offer the Cisco Linksys One hosted IP telephony service aimed at small businesses.  This service runs of a Linksys One service node, which is operated by IP Systems which wholesales it to a range of resellers. Soul is also offering the service.
