RIM Blackberry Pearl a real gem say reviewers E-mail

Canadian handset maker Research In Motion (RIM) is winning rave reviews for its new Blackberry handset, the Blackberry Pearl, which, unlike its predecessors, is designed to capture the hearts of consumers as well as business users.

The Blackberry Pearl is much smaller and slimmer, has a more realistic two letters per button keyboard rather than the full QWERTY and, from most accounts, is much more user friendly  than the clunky older model but doesn't sacrifice any the business features that made it popular, such as email and mapping.

For consumers, there is a 1.3 megapixel camera with flash and an MP3 media player which also handles MPEG4 videos. The standard handset comes with a respectable 64M of flash RAM, which can be expanded via a card.

The sparkling reviews of the Blackberry Pearl contrast with the negative publicity rival Palm is having as a result of poor sales of its Treo handset. {moscomment}
