Flash RAM manufacturer, SanDisk, has announced its second new MP3 player in as many weeks, this time appealing to the lower end of the market with 2GB version for US$100. In late August, SanDisk caused a stir in the market when the company announced the Sansa e280 media player with 8GB flash RAM for US$249. With the Sansa c200, which like the e280 will be compatible with the Microsoft PlayForSure DRM, SanDisk gives users the option to expand memory to 4GB through a memory card slot and includes an LCD screen for pictures. Other features, not included on the more expensive iPod Nano include FM radio and voice recorder. According to reports, SanDisk will soon also announce a cheaper 1GB player for US$79. {moscomment} |
