Under the three-year agreement, Mincom Managed Services (MMS) will manage TransGrid’s entire IT services. For over 10 years, MMS has provided TransGrid with application support services to the operator’s user base of approximately 1,000 end users. This new contract makes TransGrid globally one of Mincom’s largest managed services customers. Peter Suchting, Executive Vice President of Mincom Managed Services, said, “This is a significant win for Mincom and reflects our continued growth in the utilities sector globally. To service TransGrid we are creating over 20 additional new positions based in Sydney and Brisbane. By consolidating its service providers to use Mincom solely for both application and infrastructure support, TransGrid will be simplifying the management of service level agreements (SLAs) and contracts, giving it a greater control of its services. We are looking forward to contributing to TransGrid’s mission of offering its customers efficient, safe and reliable utility services.” Tony Meehan, Chief Information Officer of TransGrid, said, “Mincom has been our application support provider for a number of years and this contract substantially increases our scope of work with them. Mincom met TransGrid’s requirements as a single provider of IT outsourcing services. It demonstrated strong competencies in IT outsourcing and facilities management, extensive knowledge and experience with other utilities globally, and its solution will provide a flexible, low-risk service delivery model with a single point of accountability.”
