Video download price war set to erupt from GUBA E-mail

The days of cheap movies and TV shows for download are now upon us thanks to internet site GUBA. However, the sort of prices we're going to see in this price war are almost certainly only temporary because they're probably unsustainable.

For instance, imagine being able to download a TV show episdoe for just US$0.49 instead of the current US$1.79. Or rent a feature film for US$0.99. Or buy a newly released to DVD movie for US$9.99 - that's half price - or an older DVD movie for US$4.99.

The GUBA prices make a mockery of the prices currently being charged by iTunes and other video download sites and GUBA has deals with some of the biggest studios and TV networks.

There are of course a couple of catches. None of the downloads can be burned to DVD and must be watched on a PC or Windows Media Player devices. However, with LCD and Plasma monitors getting bigger, more high res and cheaper by the day, plus faster broadband connections becoming more commonplace, these are solvable problems for PC users.

The main catch, however, is that is highly unlikely that these sort of prices will last for very long. Although, if they did, the market will be created very quickly and permanently. {moscomment}
