A majority of a Windows users sample have indicated that the latest critical vulnerability in Windows will prompt them to look at using other computer platforms, according to a new poll.

An iTWire poll was conducted in the past week following the alert issued by the Department of Homeland Security about the Microsoft patch MS0-040, which addressed server service in Windows.

Users were asked the question: Has the latest critical Windows vulnerability prompted you to consider alternative platforms?

Of the relatively small sample of 298 respondents, 183 (61.8%) answered  yes and 115 (38.2%)  answered no.

In the latest round of Patch Tuesday fixes earlier this month, it was revealed that two critical vulnerabilities affected the current Windows Vista beta version. {moscomment}
