New firmware released by Apple Computer has reportedly gone a long way to solving noise and heat problems of the company's new notebook range, the MacBook. Some MacBook users have lodged complaints about their lightweight portable computers getting ucomfortably hot. Others have complained about the noise made by the cooling fans, which some bloggers have likened to a farmyard "mooing" sound. The new firmware released for the MacBook can be downloaded from the Apple support site. According to some users the firmware fixes both the noise and heat problem by changing the operational behaviour of the fans. The new firmware keeps the fans running continuously and adjusts the speed as required to keep the heat under control. {moscomment} |
