News Corp subsidiary Fox intends to make the running in the movie download race, with plans to enable consumers to download videos and TV shows as soon as they're released to video and within a day of appearing on TV.
The Fox shows will be downloadable from its site Direct2Drive.com and will sell movies for US$19.99 and TV episodes for US$1.99.

The downloaded videos and TV shows will be available to be played on computers and portable devices running Windows Media Player. The DRM protection will enable the downloads to be played on up to two PCs and two portable devices.

Shows available for download in the first instance will include The Omen and the TV series 24, among others. {moscomment}
