Logitech makes VoIP calling plug and play E-mail

So many people are making VoIP calls from their desktop computers these days that peripherals manufacturer Logitech has decided to cash on the booming market by providing a plug and play hardware package in both Europe and the US.

In Europe the Logitech package is optimised for the most popular product on the continent Skype, while in the US the Logitech package is tailored for the popular Yahoo and AOL messaging products.

The European version of the Logitech EasyCall Desktop includes a keyboard, mouse, headset and speakerphone. The keyboard comes with buttons to handle all aspects of the Skype service, including launching, dialling and ending calls, as well as the functions associated with the status of users online.

A similar version of the Logitech package tailored to the more popular Yahoo and AOL messaging products in the US will be available for US$129, although Skype is fast gaining popularity in the US as well.

Other products from Logitech include a cordless Skype handset and a standalone VoIP speakerphone. The Skype handset, at US$200, seems a little pricey compared to similar products that have been available for more than a year. {moscomment}
