Brightpoint North America will distribute Australian bluetooth technology specialist BlueAnt's products in the United States.
These include  including the "award winning" X3 Micro bluetooth headset, the Supertooth II bluetooth speaker, the A2DP capable sonic portable speakers and the X5 stereo bluetooth headset.

The deal follows BlueAnt opening its US office earlier this year  at which time it announced that its products were being distributed by   Xentris, DBL Distributing, Pacific Cellular Supply and D&H and that retailers taking its products included J&R Music World & Computer World, Go Wireless, DataVision, Cellaris and Xpress Wireless.

According to research firm, Gartner, North America is the second largest market for Bluetooth phones, with sales of $US5.4 million in 2004. Sales of Bluetooth phones are expected to increase over the next few months, driven by laws in more than 40 US states that require the use of hands-free phones when driving.
