In its second quarter results the US parent of Primus Australia says that it now has 181 DSLAMs installed in Australia and 144,000 broadband customers.
The number of customers is up six percent on the immediate prior quarter. Primus did not give the number on its own DSLAMs, saying only that it had 54,000 DSLAM-connected customers in Australia and Canada, where it has 65 DSLAMs.

The company said it hoped to enhance margins by adding further broadband infrastructure in high density locations and migrating customers onto these DSLAMs. "The pace of on-net migration in Australia may quicken if, as expected, current customer transfer fees (PIC charges) are materially reduced," it said.
