CESA moves away from AEEMA E-mail
by Stuart Corner
Wednesday, 12 July 2006
The Consumer Electronics Suppliers Association (CESA) has announced a new direction and a structure independent of AEEMA with the appointment of Ian McAlister as executive director and Colin Doyle as technical director. McAlister replaces Bryan Douglas. Previously AEEMA provided secretarial services to CESA.

Before joining CESA McAlister was a senior manger in the Australian Communications and Media Authority. Doyle's previous positions have focused on regulatory management for transnational companies including membership of Standards Australia technical committees and participation in various government advisory committees in the fields of electrical safety, energy efficiency, radiocommunications and telecommunications.

CESA president, Robert Wooley, said that, under McAlister and Doyle, "CESA will continue to focus on a range of issues that affect the industry and the wider community, to ensure effective industry representation and leadership and to promote an understanding of the consumer electronics and white goods industry and its contribution to the Australian community and environment".
