The Xbox maker, through a spokesperson from its Australian PR agency Howorth Communications, issued an email statement to iTWire saying: "I wanted to qualify that Mark Whittard's comment about Xbox360 supporting HD DVD by the end of the year refers to the external HD DVD drive. "As for the internal HD-DVD launch day, Toshiba is not qualified to provide this sort of information as only Microsoft can give you accurate details about their plans for the Xbox 360." Fair enough. However, might we be so bold to suggest that if Microsoft were to incorporate an internal HD DVD drive in a future version of an Xbox 360 that Toshiba, a prime mover of HD DVD technology, would very likely be part of or at least privy to knowledge of the project? In this case, mere conjecture on our part of course. {moscomment} |
