Ericsson has signed a 10-year lease with the GPT Group for residency in a new building in Melbourne's Docklands that will house 900 of its employees and has commissioned the building of a new facility in Port Melbourne for 70 employees. Ericsson will occupy the top three floors of the new eight floor building, at 818 Bourke St, Victoria Harbour, consolidating staff located in Broadmeadows and Melbourne Central Tower. The company was unable to provide information at press time as to what facilities, if any, would be closing. Construction is set to commence this month and is due to be completed in early 2008. The Port Melbourne facility, at 153 Bertie Street, will house office and warehouse facilities and will serve as a test environment and education centre for Ericsson and its customers. Construction on the facility is due to be completed in early 2007. |
