Following Optus' launch of 3G services in Adelaide and Perth last week, its network partner in the 3G rollout, Vodafone, has announced launch of its 3G service in these cities.
Vodafone claims that more than 10,500 Western Australians and 7,000 South Australians already have Vodafone 3G mobile handsets or data cards.

From launch, Vodafone’s 3G service will be available in the Adelaide and Perth CBDs and some surrounding areas. Full metropolitan area coverage is expected by around October 2006. Vodafone says that planning for regional 3G networks will commence in 2007.
