The 5 year contract will provide FISSO with IT management, support and development services for the Fleet Information Environment’s ‘restricted high network’. FISSO provides a range of ICT services for all Fleet Information Environment computing assets such as ‘restricted high network’ which is capable of providing instantaneous chat and email, information (whether a ship is cruising between ports or operating within a war zone) world wide, 24-hours, 7 days a week between the ship Maritime headquarters in Sydney and also enables sailors who are deployed overseas for months on end, to stay in touch with family and friends back home. KAZ’s relationship with FISSO extends back to April 2000. “The signing of the Royal Australian Navy’s Fleet Information Systems Support Organisations new contract provides improved quality of network service and moves the Navy to leading edge management and integration for the services they deliver. This will require KAZ to provide a premium service in one of the most demanding network environments in the world, and will take the already close KAZ Navy relationship to a new level. “KAZ has provided information and communication technology solutions to the Department of Defence for more than 20 years and has made significant contributions in people, skills, systems and facilities to the Australian Air Force, Army, Navy.” said Mike Foster, CEO, KAZ Group. |
