The new order will make NEC Australia the second largest DSLAM supplier to Turk Telecom. NEC first supplied DSL technology to Turk Telekom in 2003, and is hoping to increase its deployment of DSL services in the region. Toshiharu Iwasa, NEC Australia's managing director said he expected to further increase market share in Turkey and expand into new markets such as Europe and China. NEC Australia has also supplied one million DSL lines to Australian carriers and is the supplier of the TV over DSL technology used for PCCW's now TV service in Hong Kong. It has also conducted an IPTV trial with Turk Telecom. |
