Messaging security company, CipherTrust, has entered the Australia and New Zealand markets with the opening of an office in North Sydney and the appointment of Bob Jones as country manager. The move follows the launch, in December 2004, of the opening of CipherTrust's Asia Pacific division, headquartered in Hong Kong. Since then it has opened offices in Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. The company holds 13 patents related to technologies designed to stop the proliferation of spam, viruses, zombies and phishing attacks and to secure outbound communications in both e-mail and instant messaging. CipherTrust claims to protect the messaging infrastructures of 2000 global enterprises, SMEs and government organisations. At the core of CipherTrust's integrated product family is its TrustedSource global threat correlation engine, described as "a behaviour-based reputation system that leverages global enterprise data to classify up to 80 percent of e-mail and block malicious attacks". CipherTrust has recently added a number of other offerings: - CipherTrust Edge, a network perimeter appliance that handles up to three million messages per hour to optimise e-mail connection management and block up to 80 percent of messages. - CipherTrust IronIM, an instant messaging security gateway - CipherTrust IronNet, an outbound content compliance solution to protect across e-mail, instant messaging, file transfer, Webmail and other HTTP and FTP-based activity. - CipherTrust RADAR, a Web-based annual subscription service that provides real-time monitoring and alerts for how phishing attacks are propagating and affecting enterprise networks. - TrustedSource Portal, a free online resource that provides precise information about e-mail sender reputation by domain and IP address. It allows administrators to troubleshoot, research and analyse various senders that may be sending mail into their environments, and take action depending on the results. |
