A poll of internet users indicates the prevailing view is that the Mozilla Firefox browser will continue to take market share off Microsoft, despite the impending release of its vastly improved Internet Explorer 7 browser.

An iTWire poll taken over 40 hours, asked readers the question, “Will IE 7 stop Firefox from taking marketshare from Microsoft?” Of 215 respondents, 175 (81.4% voted No, while just 40 (18.6%) voted yes.”

IE 7 has a number of improved security features over its predecessor, and it includes similar functionality to the Firefox browser including tabbed browser windows. Microsoft also plans to use the its market dominance in the browser space to place its new Windows Live Search as the default search on the IE 7 tool bar, which has caused an outcry from rival Google. {moscomment}
