The Apple Computer iTune online music store is fast turning into a digital entertainment mart with the announcement that it has started to sell TV shows from Fox TV networks at a cost of $1.99 a show, adding it to a stable of TV network suppliers that includes all the majors, including ABC, CBS and NBC.
Most of Fox's popular shows will be for sale, 24, Buffy the Vampire
Slayer and The Shield, plus older shows, adding to the new market of
video and movie downloads created by sites like iTunes and BitTorrent,
which has just announced a deal with Warner Home Entertainment.
The shows downloaded from iTunes will have the added advantage of being
able to be viewed on an iPod as well as a computer, although skeptics
believe viewing TV shows on tiny portable screens such as an iPod or a
mobile phone is more of a gimmick than a practical source of
entertainment.{moscomment}
