Gloria Jean's Coffees has contracted Pacific Internet to connect its 340 Australian coffee houses and head office. Pacific Internet won in a competitive tender against four major providers. Mike Devlin, Gloria Jean's Coffees Australia CEO said: "Pacific Internet's attention to detail, flexibility and strong levels of network expertise in our market segment gave them a competitive edge. Also, Gloria Jean's Coffees has strong growth plans and we are impressed with Pacific Internet's Asia Pacific footprint, which will assist our entry into new markets." Pacific Internet will supply a private IP network to connect Gloria Jean's Coffees hosted finance and point of sale applications with head office and all franchise coffee houses. A fibre link will interconnect the data centre while head office and franchisees will use ADSL connections. Devlin said: "Having a scalable and reliable IP data network with access to our central applications is integral to our streamlined franchise model and aggressive expansion plans. We're buying the connections in bulk from Pacific Internet for every franchise, making it part of our standard data management fee." |
