Australian owned document archiver Speedscan Inc and US-based Data Impact Inc have merged in order to increase their reach in the Asia Pacific and US regions.
The new company, which is owned by management and investors (including Colonial First State Private Equity), will operate as Data Impact in the US, and as Speedscan in all areas outside the US.

The combined company has a worldwide workforce of more than 150 people with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Manila, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and Ft Lauderdale.

“It’s more solutions in one place,” said Speedscan CEO Mark Josman. “Customers will benefit from our global solutions that combine onsite technologies and outsourced solutions.”

The newly-merged company blends Speedscan’s document archival products and outsourced document services business in the Australia, Asia Pacific and the US, with Data Impact’s print stream processing, document scanning, and film conversion services in multiple US locations.

“Customers clearly prefer a single provider of outsourced business processes,” said Data Impact CEO Bill Plant Mason. “We can now offer, on a worldwide basis, a complete suite of document management services, including digitizing and indexing of high volumes of paper documents, conversion of microfilm and fiche to digital documents, integration and management of complex electronic print streams, and a unique ‘click to pay’ electronic remittance system.”
