EQO is a plugin which runs on your computer, connecting a Skype user account to the user's mobile phone via EQO's network. The system enables a Skype user to install the application on a PC or Macintosh as well as a large range of the more popular mobile phones. As long as EQO is running on your mobile phone and your computer, and Skype is still connected to the Skype network, you can stay connected with fellow Skype users on your contacts list from your mobile phone while you're on the move. When you make a contact iniation to a fellow Skype user or call a non Skype user, EQO acts as a sort of operator and makes the connection using Skype. You need to be a subscriber to the SkypeOut service and will get charged at the SkypeOut rate of 1.5 euro cents a minute. However, that sure beats the going mobile rates these days. You can also use the Skype instant messaging service in place of the far more costly SMS. There are a few caveats of course. You need one of the supported mobile phones with a data plan. You need to have your PC on with Skype running. You need broadband. And last, but by no means least, judging by our frequent usage of Skype from our home computer, the quality can be great or less than ordinary at times.
