Air traffic and defence software developer, Adacel (ASX:ADA) has received an additional order for around $2.5 million (US$1.8 million) to supply its MaxSim air traffic control Tower Simulator Systems (TSS) to the United States Marine Corps (USMC). The towers are being acquired as an option under a contract announced in October 2005.
The USMC will use the new simulators to enhance their training capabilities at Air Stations in Yuma (Arizona), New River (North Carolina), Camp Pendleton (California) and Iwakuni (Japan).

Adacel’s managing director, Silvio Salom, said today that the latest order brings the total number of installations in the USMC to seven. “This extension of the original agreement continues the wide distribution of the Adacel MaxSim system throughout the US defence forces,” Mr Salom said.

Over the last three years, Adacel has established itself as a leading provider of air traffic control training simulators by winning key civil and military contracts. In addition to the United States Marine Corps, Adacel is the supplier of ATC tower simulation systems for the United States Air Force, the United States Army, and the Federal Aviation Administration, Civil Aviation Authorities in Europe and the Middle East, as well as a number of prestigious aviation universities around the world.
