AWA acquires home electronic service provider Telefix E-mail

One of Australia's oldest technology brands, ICT services provider AWA Limited, claims to be on the come-back trail. AWA, an unlisted public company has  acquired warranty management services provider Telefix Sales Pty Ltd as a stepping stone to its rebuilding plans.

Telefix provides warranty management services to the home entertainment market and has repair operations in Sydney and Melbourne.

“This is an important step for AWA as we continue to develop a complete range of technical services for our customers,” said Mark Rainbird the managing director of AWA.

To date AWA has provided ICT services mainly to a corporate customer base. However the company says many customers have been asking AWA to provide support for the end users of technology at home.

“Since we acquired the AWA business in late 2004, we have noticed the lack of credible national technical service operators addressing the in-home consumer electronics market and Telefix brings us this capability,” said Rainbird.
