IT infrastructure access specialist, Citrix Systems, has signed a $5 million contract with the Victorian Government for the supply of its Citrix Presentation Server product and services.

The contract covers Citrix licences and services to all Victorian Government organisations covered by the Audit Act, including hospitals, education, local government and state government organisations.

“The Victorian Government’s e-government vision recognises the value of information and technology to link different government programs and resources in a seamless way,” said Victorian Government CIO Jane Treadwell. “It involves coordinating and integrating services and information from local and federal governments, and the private sector in the aim of making communication and dealings with government more convenient and simpler for citizens.”

The new solution will aim to provide simple and quick access to the forms, data and information needed without having to log on to separate systems.

“The Victorian Government was looking for ways to improve its delivery of services to citizens and increase end-user satisfaction and productivity,” said Gary O’Brien, area vice president Australia and New Zealand, Citrix Systems. “With so many desktops and devices throughout the Victorian Government we were able to offer a solution that simplifies IT management and provides a better user experience regardless of which office or network employees are working from.”
