ERP software provider QAD has appointed Anton Chilton as managing director for Australia and New Zealand. Mr Chilton replaces Alan Lawrence who is taking a break from business life. Mr Chilton joins QAD with more than 20 years experience in the outsourcing sector specialising in IT software and services, including the past eighteen months based in Hong Kong as the QAD Asia Pacific Services Manager. According to QAD, the appointment of Mr Chilton marks a philosophical shift for the company in Australia and New Zealand from a company focused on software sales to one seeking a more planned and value oriented relationship with customers. The new direction is expected to swell the size of local consulting operations, according to QAD. Mr Chilton said the current mix of product centric consultants will be boosted with an enhanced consulting oriented capability. QAD Australia has offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide and employs approximately 75 people.
