| Alacrity mobile comms deal with Australian Navy |

Alacrity Technologies has won a three year contract with the Royal Australian Navy’s HMAS Kuttabul to automate mobile emergency and evacuation communication between the ship’s personnel. Alacrity’s interactive mobile internet platform CLEW (Closed Loop Environment for Wireless), which operates on data-enabled mobile devices such as mobile phones and PDA’s, will be deployed on HMAS Kuttabul to optimise resources and improve response times to emergency alerts. Situated above the Garden Island Dockyard facility in Sydney’s Woolloomooloo Bay, HMAS Kuttabul provides administrative, training and logistics support to uniform and civilian Defence personnel within the Sydney area. Previously, HMAS Kuttabul’s in-house ‘Protection, Communication and Emergency Evacuation’ process involved manually calling, emailing or SMS messaging personnel required to rapidly respond in emergencies, a process that was both time and resource consuming. Under the new contract, Alacrity’s secure browser-based dynamic messaging interface CLEW, will enable HMAS Kuttabul to alert specific personnel, irrespective of their location, to events in real time by sending messages to officers’ mobile devices. CLEW then authenticates and audits the responses, to reduce the resources involved in transmitting and collating alert information. Alacrity won the deal based upon its ability to demonstrate a working solution rapidly and achieve immediate productivity gains and cost efficiencies, according to the parties involved. Commander of HMAS Kuttabul, Brett Chandler, said, “Alacrity responded to our need to simplify and expedite the recall of personnel. The application of the new technology within our Emergency Management Structure enables Kuttabul personnel, in the event of a major emergency, to be contacted and recalled much faster and more efficiently than using traditional methods.” Adrian Tatham, CEO, Alacrity, said, “This contract is a great achievement and further reinforces the growing reputation Alacrity is earning for delivering flexible, quality services that meet the needs of our clients.
