Hostworks Group has reported an increase in revenue of 17 percent to $9.2m for six months to 31 December 2005, compared to the previous corresponding period and says the value of contracts signed in the first half are up by 110 percent to $14.2m.

EBITDA for the half year was $1.9m, in line with the previous corresponding period. After tax profit was $141,573. The company said that its decision to expand its sales team to accelerate growth and support the expanding sales pipeline, as well as front-end investments to support major new contracts, had impacted EBITDA.

The company signed contracts during the half year with a number of new clients including SEEK Ltd, News Interactive and Sensis MediaSmart and extended or signed new contracts with existing clients including Compass Group, AHL, a financial institution and Endemol Southern Star, producer of the Big Brother television series, for the specialist management of their critical applications.

Collectively, clients using the Hostworks ad-serving solution are contracted to serve more than 3.5 billion ads per month, which Hostworks says represents a major portion of the Australian online advertising sector.
