Data centre operator, Equinix, has announced that Pacific Teleports has selected it to provide co-location and network exchange services from its Sydney Internet Business Exchange.

As part of the agreement, Pacific Teleports will use Equinix's Sydney hub as a network interconnection point for the delivery of its wholesale voice and broadband services to customers in the South Pacific region.

"Our focus is on satellite telecommunications and broadcast services specifically in the Asia Pacific region, and our new point of presence in Equinix's Sydney centre will enable us to interconnect with an aggregation of our strategic partners," said Andrew Taylor, co-founder and CEO, Pacific Teleports. "This arrangement will give us greater resiliency in our network."
