Email security vendor, Sophos, has launched a new specialist security box, which it claims is the industry's first fully integrated managed email security appliance.
The new computer called the ES4000 features a web-based interface and automated security updates. Accoring to Sophos, the ES4000 receives automated virus and spam protection updates every five minutes and can process millions of email messages each day. "Sophos technology has been powering some of the most successful appliances on the market for years - in fact, 30% of companies running email security appliances are already benefiting from having Sophos under the hood," said Steve Munford, CEO, Sophos. "As the threats of viruses and spam have unified, so should the protection. Sophos is uniquely positioned to deliver the highest level of protection and the best email security experience." Rob Forsyth, Sophos's Sydney-based Managing Director, Asia Pacific, said, "Sophos has developed the industry's first fully integrated email security appliance in response to our customers, who have told us the appliance form factor will feature heavily in their future gateway security evaluations."
