Security technology and services distributor, SecureServ Pty Ltd, has been appointed the Australia and New Zealand distributor for Swedish company, Ingate Systems' security products which claims to have the world's first SIP-capable enterprise firewalls.
Ingate develops firewall technology and products that enable SIP-based live communication for the enterprise, while maintaining control and security at the network edge. It offers the Ingate SIParator, "a device that attaches to an existing firewall to make it instantly SIP-capable, resulting in a major preservation of firewall investment." The company claims that "This makes Ingate the only choice for enterprises planning to use SIP-based communications such as presence, instant messaging, audio/video conferencing and VoIP."
Johan Terve, vice president, marketing and sales, of Ingate Systems said: "Live SIP-based communications are expected to create the next major wave of Internet usage, after e-mail and the Web. With our technology, business of all sizes can control and secure the enterprise network and reap the benefits of VoIP, instant messaging and a host of person-to-person communications based on SIP, today's standard protocol for IP real-time communications."
