NetComm has released a range of antenna amplifiers designed to boost the power, and hence the range, of WiFi access points.

According to managing director, David Stewart, "Most typical wireless routers and access points have a power output somewhere between 20-50mW – our basic indoor wireless booster outputs 200mW."

There are four models available in the range: two for indoor use (200mW and 500mW) and two for outdoor (500mW and 1,000mW). They fit between any wireless router or access point with an SMA connector and its detachable antenna. There are also a range of adaptors available for other connector types. Prices range from $181 ex. GST to $635 ex. GST.
