It's not just the iPhone. Virus can infect iPod Touch E-mail

The iPod Touch is an iPhone without the phone.  This means the Touch is just as susceptible to the ikee virus as the iPhone.

I wrote earlier today about the ikee virus, written by a young hacker from Woollongong.  This virus attacks jailbroken iPhones via the SSH protocol using the default password.

Bad news.  Teenagers are also jailbreaking their iPod Touch units in order to access apps either rejected by Apple or 'borrowed' from their mates.  This means that they are EQUALLY susceptible to the virus.

Remember, the virus will only affect units that have been jailbroken and that have the SSH interface enabled with the default password unchanged.

Note that reader Bennysaurus has responded in the first article with instructions on how to change the SSH password.  Jailbroken iPhone and iPod Touch users should urgently follow them.
