Progress Software has appointed a new head of its Asia Pacific field operations responsible for managing a single integrated and customer-focused sales, services and support organisation.

The company’s senior vice president of global field operations, Christopher Larsen, said Paul Henaghan had been appointed to the position and would be based in Singapore. Henaghan is a 20 year veteran of the IT industry with experience in enterprise software companies.

Prior to Progress, Henaghan was vice president of sales for Software AG in Asia, and before that he managed the Software AG webMethods business unit covering Asia Pacific and Japan. He has also worked for Oracle, Advantage Group and Walker Datavision.

In another appointment announced this week, Quest Software appointed Emma Skelly as application and database management, systems consultant Sydney, responsible for pre-sales of Quest’s solutions to customers and business partners.

Laurence Cole, managing director, Quest Software Australia and New Zealand, said Skelly will work with Quest account managers and sales managers to support their efforts to grow Quest’s application and database management business in Australia.

“Emma’s rich background and knowledge in application and database management will ensure Quest account managers have the expert support they need to deliver quality service and products to our customers.”

Skelly has joined Quest after several years as a freelance database and application server administrator, and with an extensive background in application and database management, working with IBM in France, the Bank of Ireland, Vodafone, Microsoft, and a number of government departments within the public sector.
