Infinity Ward is once again asking to head the call of duty.  The Modern Warfare 2 launch trailer has been unleashed by publisher Activision.

The original game sold more than 12 million copies worldwide, and, because of this success, the inevitable sequel is almost upon us.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will cause a frenzy of action and explosions across the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 gaming platforms from November 10th this year.

Below is the official launch trailer for the game where both hype and controversy are building towards the release date.

Developer Infinity Ward is not shy in asking players to question the in-game actions they are taking.  The 2007 original had several poignant action moments (if such a thing can exist), the most memorable being the detached emotions of blasting human shaped heat signatures on the ground from the safety of a C130 gun-ship.

This time around, and we need to experience the context before criticising, there will be a mission involving the player taking part in a terrorist raid of an air-port.  Civilians will be gunned down, and one hopes Infinity Ward has not over stepped the mark in trying to reinforce the horrors of modern day conflict, instead, the mission raises the bar on mature interactive entertainment yet again.
