Microsoft has reduced the subscription price of its Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS), and jacked up the mailbox size.

The hosted BPOS service comprises Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Office Communications Online and Microsoft Live Meeting.

A price cut of almost 40% has reduced the monthly subscription to $A13.25 per user (for one to 99 users; lower rates apply for 100 or more users).

Add-on services include Dynamics CRM Online, Exchange Hosted Services, and System Center Online Desktop Manager.

The online services are updated each quarter, and the latest enhancements include increased mailbox space (to 25GB) and new administration scripting capabilities.

Microsoft is this week extending commercial BPOS availability to Singapore, and adding Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Israel, Malaysia, Mexico, Poland, Puerto Rico, Romania, and Taiwan to the list of countries where BPOS is available on a trial basis.

Commercial availability is expected in India by the end of the year.

Microsoft's BPOS customers include Aviva, Lions Gate Entertainment, and McDonald's.

"Global organisations such as McDonald’s, Rexel Group and Tyco are choosing Microsoft Online Services for the rich capabilities, flexibility and value they deliver, said Microsoft business division president Stephen Elop.

"In just a year, we've grown to 36 countries and more than a million paying users, and we're not slowing down. We'll continue to bring new innovations and deliver the software and services businesses need to succeed," he added.
