Many Mac users are aware of the heavily discounted software bundles that are offered from time to time. Now one of the promoters has launched a daily special.Featured Whitepaper

While I've heard mutterings that some of these supposed bargains aren't such good buys once you've added delivery charges, I know some regular patrons of these online outlets who have picked up all sorts of items at prices well below those charged in stores. Another marketing technique that's become popular over the last year or two is the bundling of perhaps 10 or 12 pieces of Mac software for the price of one or two of the most expensive. There have been criticisms that the promoters of such deals may take too big a share, but nobody's forcing the developers to participate, and at least one operation (TheMacBundles) prides itself on giving developers as well as purchasers a good deal. Now, UK-based Mac Bundle Box has diversified into Mac Daily Box, a sibling site that offers a substantial discount on a single piece of software each day. "Applications in Mac Daily Box promotions are often discounted fifty percent and higher off of their recommended retail price, making the promotional prices over at Mac Daily Box some of the lowest around for the included applications," said founder Christian Owens. At the time of writing, the Mac Daily Box offer was a half-price copy of Dejal's Caboodle snippet organiser. A mailing list alerts subscribers to the daily offers. TheMacBundles previously marketed a weekly special, but that program is apparently on hiatus until later in the year. |
