The Commonwealth Bank’s websites have been recognised as one of the ‘world’s most well executed’, winning four awards in the 2009 Interactive Media Awards (IMA), with NetBank and commbank.com.au receiving the ‘best in class for financial services and 'best in class' for banking’ categories. According to the Commonwealth Bank’s executive general managerenterprise service development, Tim Whiteley, the bank has been“working hard over the past year to deliver customers significantenhancements which will empower them to manage their money onlinewhilst giving greater flexibility, transparency, functionality andsecurity," while the bank’s chief marketing officer, Mark Buckman, said“this was a significant achievement for the group, recognising itsinnovative approach and ongoing investment in building a great onlineexperience for its customers.” Buckman claimed the commbank.com.au website, demonstrates the “essenceof the Commonwealth Bank brand”, which he was “put the customer first,be approachable and provide information and functionality that thecustomer understands and can act on. “We recognise that the way people want to consume content online isalways changing and therefore deliver content in multiple formats fromplain language copy to RSS live feeds, offering choice for theconsumer.” According to Hitwise, the Commonwealth Bank has the largest marketshare of website visits, ranking NetBank number one, closely followedby commbank.com.au ranking fourth in Australia in the banks andfinancial institutions category. The IMA judges all websites on a number of criteria, including design,content, feature functionality, usability and standards compliance. |
