The Federal Government’s superannuation administrator, ComSuper, is undertaking a major upgrade of its network infrastructure with the implementation of a new network based on Juniper Networks Unified Access Control (UAC) solution, in the first stage IT rollout for the fund which manages superannuation for almost 700,000 public sector members.Featured Whitepaper

Hunter said that, as part of the core and edge network infrastructure upgrade, ComSuper will deploy Juniper Networks EX Series Ethernet Switches and Juniper Networks UAC, which will provide “comprehensive control, visibility and monitoring of network access while guarding mission-critical applications and sensitive data.” According to Hunter, the Juniper solution provides ComSuper with a scalable, virtualised, VoIP-enabled network with embedded security. “Millions of dollars each week are administered by ComSuper, so it is paramount our network is stable, scalable and highly resilient. Juniper’s network solutions met all of our requirements,” Hunter said, adding that “the tight integration of Juniper’s EX Series switches with the Unified Access Control solution, along with the JUNOS single network operating system, provides us with a reliable, scalable and highly resilient core allowing for easy administration. This ultimately increases our business agility and contributes to our bottom line.” Hunter says that ComSuper manages superannuation funds for almost 700,000 public sector superannuation members, including members of the Australian Defence Force.
