The product range just released by Telstra includes the Samsung S6700T which it’s retailing at $249 (available from 27 October), turbo wireless broadband pre-paid at $179 (27 October), Sony Ericsson Naite for $179 outright (3 November), Sony Ericsson T707 for $199 (3 November), the Telstra T106 for $129 (27 October), and the Sony Ericsson T707 for $199 (3 November). In releasing its pre-paid data modem, from Sierra Wireless, Tesltra is promising fast download and upload speeds, and claiming “typical download speed of 550kbps to 3Mbps and typical upload speed of 300kbps to 3Mbps in capitals, metropolitan and selected regional areas.” The telco also says that “consumers can access email, upload photos to Facebook, stream media and browse the net at high speed,” with the modem which is Windows and Mac compatible. And, for good measure and to entice consumers, Telstra throws in a bonus 1GB of data if buyers activate their new pre-paid broadband service before 31 December this year. |
