Microsoft has announced that public betas of SharePoint 2010 and Office 2010 will be released in November. The final versions are expected in the first half of next year.Featured Whitepaper

New features of SharePoint 2010 include an Office-style ribbon interface, deeper integration with Office, support for rich media, additional content management features (including accessibility), improved connectivity to data sources and Web Services, and support for additional technologies including Silverlight. The online version of SharePoint 2010 will include enterprise features such as Excel Services and InfoPath Forms Services. "By taming the overflow of information across systems and technologies, SharePoint enables organisations to thrive," said Ballmer. "SharePoint 2010 is the biggest and most important release of SharePoint to date. When paired with Microsoft Office 2010, SharePoint 2010 will transform efficiency by connecting workers across a single collaboration platform for business," he added. SharePoint Server 2010 and Office 2010 are expected to ship in the first half of 2010. |
