Free DVD rentals from the oovie machine E-mail

Renting DVD movies from a vending machine is already a cheap alternative to the traditional video store.  But from today Instant DVD is rebranding to oovie and promising not only an expansion on the number of DVD dispensing machines, but also free rental on a Wednesday.

The concept is pretty straight forward; anybody with a credit card can approach the DVD dispensing machine and grab a DVD for the night.

At AU$2.99 a night the cost is pretty competitive, and if you don’t return the disc to a machine within 14 days, you can keep your copy – that catch being that your credit card will be drained a total of AU$36.00 for the privilege.

Currently oovie is running around 80 machines in Melbourne and Sydney but has larger plans in the works, these  include rolling out many more ATM style vending machines and free movie rentals on hump-day Wednesday.

Here is what oovie is saying:

oovie Australia’s largest DVD rental machine operator, has today launched Free oovie Wednesdays, allowing customers to rent the latest DVD releases from any oovie machine on Wednesdays for free.

The promotion has been introduced to celebrate the relaunch of the brand from Instant DVD to oovie and the introduction of a further 1,000 machines over the next two years.  To get Australians into the swing of renting DVDs from a machine - oovie is offering customers Free oovie Wednesdays and all other rentals for only $2.99 a night.

In addition to offering the cheapest DVD rentals in Australia, convenience is key and renting a movie with oovie could not be easier. Once you have narrowed your choice from 300 of the latest release movies, you simply select your desired movie, swipe your credit card and take it home to enjoy. Customers can rent from any oovie machine and return any to any of the other oovie machines found in supermarkets and shopping centres, making the rental experience both easy and convenient. Customers can also reserve movies online at www.oovie.com.au.

Ian O’Rourke, co-founder of oovie comments: “oovie’s ethos is simple - we want to challenge the way that Australians rent DVDs by offering our customers $2.99 rentals at the most convenient locations.  We want our customers to enjoy renting the latest movies without having to worry about joining fees, late fees, or any other of the inconveniences that you often get stuck with at video stores.  We have introduced Free oovie Wednesdays to inspire Australians to get a movie from oovie and experience the difference for themselves.”
