HP has released a raft of systems aimed at the commercial and consumer markets, including touchscreen models. Also new is the company's first 42in HD digital signage touch display.

HP reckons businesses may treat the release of Windows 7 as a cue to replace older PCs, so it has rolled out a new notebook and desktop systems aimed at this market. Other "affordable" models are aimed at the consumer and SME markets, and HP has also extended its range of touchscreen systems.

The HP Elite 7000 business desktop PC comes with Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, and runs Windows 7 (SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 is available as a preinstalled option).

Prices start at $US789.

The new HP ProBook 6445b and HP Probook 6545b both feature AMD processors and graphics, with 14in or 15.6in LED-backlit widescreen displays. The mobile broadband option for these models also provides GPS location.

Compatible docking stations featuring USB, eSATA, DisplayPort, VGA and DVI ports have also been introduced.

ProBook prices start at $US799.

Please read on for details of the new Compaq and TouchSmart models.
