Following global acclaim, the Samsung JETICON arrives in Australia E-mail
Tuesday, 13 October 2009
Samsung Electronics Australia today announced the launch of the highly anticipated Samsung JETICON to the local market. One of five touchphones launched as part of the Samsung ICON family today, the Samsung JETICON delivers the very best in power, speed and brilliance encased in a sleek and stylish high-end design.

If you're obsessed with keeping up-to-date with your social network pages this is the phone for you! One of the fastest mobile phones around, the Samsung JETICON lets you surf the internet, instant message and dive into social networking quicker than ever before. Coupled with the new Samsung Dolfin Browser, you can flick between five windows to chat with your friends, while catching up with the latest gossip and upload or download music and photos. By bookmarking favourite websites you can customise the phone to launch these top five sites each time you log on. Built on a powerful 800MHz processor, this delivers remarkable speed and stunning performance, making it extremely fast and fun to be online.

Taking a closer look at web pages and photos is simple with Samsung’s unique One-Finger-Zoom; a single finger will let you zoom in and out on what’s worth taking a closer look at! Boasting the innovative “Smart Unlock” feature you can unlock the phone and enter the menu directly by drawing a letter of the alphabet on the screen – it is as easy as ‘M’ for messages. For increased convenience, turn your Samsung JETICON upside down to silence the ring tone and avoid interrupting a business meeting or date.

The Samsung JETICON also sports Samsung’s new screen technology with revolutionary backlighting. The incredibly bright 3.1 inch AMOLED screen provides brilliant clarity for viewing web pages, movies and photos at ‘any angle’. Samsung’s AMOLED screen technology is also responsible for two other key benefits:
·         Providing a generous screen size while phone design remains slim and sleek
·         Using 66 per cent less power consumption so battery life is optimised at all times
The Samsung JETICON TouchWiz Interface is easy to use and creates a dynamic 3D environment controlled by touch and motion. You can simply shake, tilt or tap the Samsung JETICON to choose from the camera, music, radio and motion dial feature.
Tyler McGee, Vice President of Telecommunications, Samsung Australia explained: “Samsung JETICON has already achieved phenomenal global success where it has been launched and we believe this has translated into much local anticipation. We're excited to finally bring this mobile phone to Australians looking for the coolest touchphone technology in a very sleek package.”
The Samsung JetICON will be available on the Hutchison (3) network from October.

The Samsung JetICON is one of five phones launched in Australia today as part of Samsung’s new touchphone range - ICON. Please see additional materials for information about the Samsung PrestonICON, Samsung OMNIAICON, Samsung HDICON and the Samsung GalaxyICON.
