Speech and language data processing technology provider, Appen, the Information and Communication Technology Award at the 2005 Australian Export Awards. Sydney-based Appen processes linguistic data in more than 50 languages, and has a global client base including IBM, Microsoft, Toshiba, Siemens, Nuance, Telstra and government and defence organisations. The ICT award was presented by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Mark Vaile, at a dinner celebrating the Australian Export Awards in Sydney last week. Anthony Huxleym the CEO of Augment Communications, the ICT award sponsor, congratulated Appen on its export success. Augment Communications recognises the importance of effective information and communication technology in any export venture,Ӕ Mr Huxley said. The other finalists in the Information and Communication Technology category were CEA Technologies Pty Ltd (ACT), Comlabs Systems Pty Ltd (SA), Hitwise Pty Ltd (VIC), JadeLiquid Software Pty Ltd (TAS), MetroCount (WA) and Redmap Networks (QLD).
